Basket quilt patterns are always popular destinations on the Quilting site, and it's wonderful that we have so many pattern variations to choose from. Design your basket quilts around the seasons to make them appear realistic or sew them with fabrics that have nothing to do with nature -- the final look is always your choice.
Holiday Harvest Quilt Pattern
Traditional Grape Baskets quilt blocks are arranged on-point in this quilt, and separated by Oak Leaf & Acorn applique blocks. The quilt finishes at about 60" x 70", but you can use my yardage calculation instructions to determine how much fabric you'll need for a larger version.
Amish Baskets Quilt Pattern
You'll use the Amish Baskets quilt block pattern to make nine scrappy blocks for this 63" x 63" wallhanging (the quilt pattern is on page 3 of the block instructions, so go backwards a few pages for those directions). Blocks are set on point and surrounded by setting triangles. Add a border (or two) if you that look (or if you prefer a larger quilt). This makes a nice lap quilt, or even a quilt that can be used as a picnic blanket (if you can bear to put it on the ground).
