Baby Chains Patchwork Baby Quilt Pattern

I had a large "yes" response when I asked how many people would like to see a baby quilt version of the Cozy Chains quilt. Reducing the blocks by half results in 6" x 6" square versions that suit the smaller scale that's best for baby quilts. The reduction does make the strip pieced units narrow (1" wide finished in some cases), but all pieces are straight-sided -- you won't have to worry about dealing with bias edges.

The quilt's description remains basically the same. The Baby Chains baby quilt is a patchwork quilt made from one type of block sewn in two colorways. Blocks are alternated side-to-side and up-and-down. Interior sections of the blocks, and small dark squares, are common to both color layouts, and flow diagonally across the quilt.

Change the fabrics if you do not need a dark-hued baby quilt.

The quilt's units are rotary cut and strip pieced. If rotary cutting is new to you, be sure to read How to Rotary Cut Fabric Strips and other rotary cutting how-to articles on this Web site before you begin.
