Here's a little baby quilt pattern that you can customize to suit your needs. In the example, different warm fabrics are used to make the "wrench" portion of each Monkey Wrench quilt block, but backgrounds are the same dark brown. Cornerstones repeat the dark brown, while sashing is assembled from a lighter brownish-golden print. The outer border is lighter yet, and a somewhat warmish-neutral.

Alter any of the fabrics to create a completely different look.

Finished quilt block size: 6" x 6"

Finished quilt size: 38" x 45"

Quilting Fabrics & Other Materials

Dark brown print for block backgrounds and cornerstones: 1 yard

Light brownish-gold print for sashing: 3/4 yard

Light print for border: 1/2 yard for pieced border strips (1-1/8 yard for one-piece, lengthwise grain borders; apply side borders first)

20 different bright-warm prints for wrenches: scraps about 5" x 11" (can be other sizes, see instructions on page 2 for cutting)

Backing: 1-1/2 yards

Batting: approximately 46" x 53"

Binding: approximately 195 running inches (Binding Strip Instructions)
