It's very possible that this quilt block is known by another name. Parts of it look familiar, but I'm honestly not sure if it's been done. The design was born from a draft of Queen Charlotte's Crown, although the end results looks nothing like that traditional quilt.

The quilt block is made up of Flying Geese units, squares, and half-square triangles.

Fabrics

Choose four fabrics of varying color value to use with your neutral background. Use mine as a guide, but choose fabrics that work with your theme.

Cutting Chart

The illustration, lower right, shows completed units; the cutting chart differs.

Muted Yellow-Gold:

  • Ten 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares (two for center unit; eight for maroon/yellow Flying Geese units)

Teal:

  • Eight 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares

Muted Mauve:

  • Two 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares
  • Four 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles

Maroon:

  • Four 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" squares
  • Four 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" rectangles

Background:

  • Four 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" squares
  • Eight 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares
