How to Make Easy Fabric Postcards
Friday April 6, 2007
Fabric postcards are ever so popular with quilters. We usually have a fabric postcard swap or two taking place in our Quilting Forum, so I thought it was time I put a few fabric postcard instructions online, like the method I used to make the springtime handkerchief postcard you see here. I hope you'll find some ideas you like in the tutorial, but always remember that postcards can be made using any technique you desire. There are no rules!Photo © Janet Wickell

Hello Janet,
Thankyou so much for putting the tutorial online. I have been away for sewing for a year but will be going back to it soon. I feel like it’s been a hundred years because as soon as I got my housework done and when I could, make a casserole for dinner, then, go to my sewing room. What a wonderful way to get started again. My husband had just got me a new fancy sewing machine just before I had to leave my sewing room for awhile. This will be a great way to not only learn the machine without being overwhelmed. I have received several quilted cards from friends online and just love them. The very idea that one would take the time to make something is just heartwarming. I’m going to the tutorial now. Again, thankyou for sharing. Dorothy
Hi Dorothy — You’re welcome! Have fun with making the postcards. They’re an excellent way to try new techniques, so do anything with them that you like.
