Slotted Spools is is a variation of the traditional Spools quilt block. Its patchwork is quick-pieced, without fussing around with set in seams, and like other blocks for the Backwards Medallion Sampler, Slotted Spools finishes at 6-inches square.
If you're not making the sampler quilt, feel free to use the block for any project it suits. The scale, with each actual spool unit finishing at 3" square, would be nice for a baby quilt. One more to add to my to-do list -- a baby quilt from Spools and an entire quilt from the Depression quilt block.
