Don't let its modest appearance deceive you, because the Scrappy Floating Star quilt block isn't one bit ho-hum. It has color, it has visual texture, and both of those qualities create lots of movement across the face of a quilt. Floating Star is indeed super easy to make, and fast, but it sure isn't boring once it's sewn to neighboring quilt blocks.
One way to make a quilt with a wide assortment of scrappy blocks is to join a block swap. The swap for this block has already ended, but there are lots of other swaps for sewn blocks and swaps for fabric in our Quilting Forum.

On the web site the quilt bus it showed you had a quilt block pattern named logcabin-pineapple block. Where is it please. I could not find it anyplace. Just advertisements for log cabins.
I have made those kind of blocks and to look at one, it seems boring but can be quite nice if they are placed together right.
Is there any way to print all the directions for the block without going to each individual page?
Nancy, you do have to go to each page, but be sure to use the little printer icon in the upper right corner to strip out everything except the instructions. You probably will only need two pages of this pattern, the others are just examples. Also, once you’ve pulled up the page with the printer icon, you can save as a PDF or copy and paste things into one document, such as a Word document.
