Just a quick link to the Hopscotch Quilt Pattern. It's a bit larger than a typical crib quilt, but still a good size for a baby or toddler. The quilt contains no triangles, so it's easy for beginners who might want to stick to straight edge pieces for a bit. I'm off -- we're in the middle of an ice storm and the power is flickering. Once it goes, we'll be on a generator, and the device I use to buffer the generator's uneven power doesn't seem to be working quite right, so computer use will be minimal. Click through to see a photo of the quilt, and learn more about it.

Janet I would like to thank you for all the knowlege you bring to About.com quilting. I started here a lot of years ago when I first started quilting. This was the best place of information and FRee patterns. I learned a lot and made some good friends. I know I can come here and find any information I need for a project or if it isn’t here some where I can ask for help and it is a email away or on the forum. I just think sometimes quilters like you don’t get enough credit in what you do. So I am taking my hat off and saying thank you cause if people like you wasn’t there working there wouldn’t be a About.com quilting. God Bless you friend Sharon
I just have a question. I have a quilt that is not finished. I need to learn how to put the backing on the quilt. Are there any classes close to Des Plaines that I could take to learn how to do this.
Thank you,
Gloria
Gloria I am not Janet but I know you can find a lot of books at the library about how to finish your quilt. Right here on about.com is a lot of information too. Go to the top of this page you will see learn to make a quilt and I am sure you will find information to help you . If you are looking for classes in your eara check out quilt shops or if there isn’t any quilt shops ask around at your fabric shop. I hope in some way I have helped so happy quilting .Your friend Sharon
