Wyoming Valley is a traditional patchwork quilt block that falls into the category of you can assemble me in loads of ways. Look at the illustration and it's easy to see that the black patches are diamonds. They can be cut and assembled as diamonds, but another option is to orient half square triangles so that they flow together to create the same shape. Or, you can mimic the diamonds by sewing a pair of stacked Flying Geese units. The pattern includes instructions for two of those methods.A hefty percentage of quilt blocks offer similar construction options, and that means nearly every design can be constructed in a beginner-friendly (or speed-friendly) manner. Get familiar with quilt block bone structure and you'll see that it's easy to spot units that can be altered to suit your needs.

Ms. Janet, To your knowledge is there is quilt block for each state?
Hi, Yes — I believe every state has a block and some states have more than one (sometimes similar, sometimes very different).
I have a book for pieced borders for each state. Fun but watch out for those basis edges.
Can you share the name of your book with the state quilt borders? That sounds like a nice book,
