King's Crown Quilt Block Pattern
King's Crown is one of the names tagged to this traditional quilt block. And like it's varied names, the block can be constructed in a couple of different ways. Look at the midpoints along the side of the block -- each inward (green) "point" can be created by sewing two half-square triangle units side-by-side, or by making a single flying geese unit. I've included quick-piecing cutting instructions for both methods. The King's Crown block finishes at 12" square.King's Crown is the first installment for Block-a-Day March. There might be days when I do two block patterns to make up for a "miss" the day before, and I might replace one or two quilt blocks with small projects, like an iPod case and a pillow-cover. But watch for thirty-one new somethings on the Quilting site by the end of March.

Thanks for sharing the block a day for March. This pattern is lovely, and I look forward to more!
Love the idea, and I’m going to try to keep up with the challenge. Maybe not an ipod case, because I’m not quite sure what those things are, and I don’t have one.
These are great, even if I don’t make one. How about a GPS case, like for a Garmin nuvi?
Looking for patterns to make a queen size quilts.
Thanks
