NEW Quiz: Quilt Bone Structure

Friday January 30, 2009
I get lots of requests for more quilting quizzes, but coming up with different topics has been a little difficult. I like this one though, a 10-question quiz about quilt bone structure, with just a bit of technique thrown in. If you're a beginning quilter, you might be surprised just how important a quilt's backbones are to the success of your finished project.

Please re-read question 5 and the answers. It should say ADD 1/2 inch - not SUBTRACT 1/2 inch. Thank you.

I believe that answer is correct, but I should have said subtract 1/2″ from the “cut” size of the border to get the finished size of the block. I assumed the “cut” status.

It’s difficult to take the quiz with the ads blocking the end of each line of the question. Would it be possible to be able to “close” the ad to allow us to be able to read the entire question?

Jean, we’ve discovered that the problem occurs when monitors are set to a resolution of 800 x 600. If you can increase the resolution, the problem should go away. There isn’t a way to block ads. Hopefully we’ll have another solution in the future.

I enjoy all the quizzes!
This one took a bit of thinking - visualizing each concept, but I’m proud to say I did very well, 10 of 10!
Thanks for all the thought you put into the site.
