Quilt Challenge for You (and Me)
The Arizona quilt challenge was inspired by frequent trips I'm making to the state over the next couple of years. I haven't had a lot of time to really look around while I'm here (yet), but the constant topography changes during the hundred miles or so from Phoenix to Sedona are inspiring, and my brain "saw" quilts in every range of styles and colors. It's the first in a series of challenges that will each focus on a specific region -- and you don't have to live in the region (or even like the region) to join in the fun, because stitching something from a palette that you might not otherwise work with can be a wonderful learning experience. So let's all stretch our skills, starting with this varied and beautiful state.
PS: your quilt does not have to be a landscape. That's one choice, but there are so many other ways to interpret a topic in cloth (something for everyone).

I live here and the possibilities are endless. How do you define a challenge quilt. Just the color ranges in a sunrise or sunset in redrock country can be breath taking, but how would one translate that to cloth. Spring in the desert is a miracle and the lush colors of spring flowers and cacti would amaze anyone.
