Darting Birds Quilt Pattern

Thursday August 7, 2008
quiltingSometimes we see Darting Birds quilt blocks arranged in groups of four to resemble a flock of birds in flight. I think that's a good look, but felt like trying single blocks flying upwards. The result -- a Darting Birds quilt pattern that makes a crib sized quilt with twelve traditional blocks placed on point and surrounded by setting squares and triangles. The neutral background lets the birds stand out and gives the quilt a light and airy appearance. Quilt blocks finish at 6" square and the quilt measures 35" x 43-1/2".
