Odds and Ends Quilt Block

Wednesday March 19, 2008
sampler quilt patternThe Odds and Ends quilt block offers lots of layout opportunities. Play around with color value if you like, maybe placing lighter long bars on the outer perimeter of the quilt instead of using them near the center as shown here, or switching around the value placement of the four patch units that rest in the corners. Assemble all of the units, and then experiment a bit before you sew everything together. And remember, fabrics are for inspiration only -- chose colors and styles that suit your own tastes.

This is a beautiful block. After seeing it, I have decided to save all the block directions for future use. Or, maybe make a quilt with all block #7?? !!! Thanks for doing this for us!

Hey Karen, I’m glad you like it. The block is part of the Anniversary Sampler series. All the block patterns are finished but I still have to release the layout instructions.
