Clownin' Around Quilt
Saturday March 15, 2008
Clownin' Around is made with the traditional patchwork Clown quilt block. I used vibrant colors in this example, for a circus-like theme, but included a monochromatic version with vertical sashing as an example for those of you who like to keep things a bit more toned-down. The quilt blocks are made from a combination of plain squares and quarter square triangle units. Units in the blocks' center rows could have been made from rectangles, but I decided to keep the flow going with squares. The blocks are big — 15-inches — but that means you can grow the quilt quickly if you choose to make more than the instructions call for.© Janet Wickell
