Catching the View Quilt Pattern

Wednesday May 9, 2007
cat quiltThe three kitty cats in this quilt are peering through windows at all the spring flowers outside, and you can bet they're keeping an eye on the butterflies flying around the garden. This has been a popular pattern with readers, and although it does have set-in seams at the mitered frames, it's not difficult to assemble.

I want to buy an out of print book on Machine Stitched Cathedral Window Star. Any direction you can give me would be great. If I can’t find the book, would you be able to print the pattern and method for folding the fabric. Respectfully, Sue Self

Hi Sue, you might try searching for the book on Amazon.com to see if any resellers carry it. Or on eBay. If it’s not my pattern, I could not reproduce it, since it would be copyrighted by the original author. Some techniques are standard and have been written by loads of people, so you might be able to find another, similar book that’s in print.

There are two of them. They are PDF files on the first page of the pattern, near the end.

Sue- you can get the ISBN # from Amazon – then go to http://books.google.com and put the ISBN number in there. Good luck – wish I could share my book with you.

Cathedral Window quilts are fund to make, but they do take quite a while to do.

I am looking for an I Spy quilt pattern that has the magnifying glasses on one row of blocks. Any ideas which magazine it is in?

Hi ladies,

Just letting you know that the link above to the cathedral window quilt at http://www.sewing.com is no longer valid.

The new link is http://www.sewing.com/projects/blog/default.aspx?id=5&t=Fabric-Book-Cover (cut and paste this into your browser)

We’ve made this an easily downloadable .pdf so you can print it off and carry the project to your sewing room – have fun with your projects!
