It's Not as Boring as it Looks

Friday April 27, 2007
star quiltDon't let its modest appearance deceive you, because this Scrappy Floating Star block isn't one bit ho-hum. It has color, it has visual texture, and both of those qualities create lots of movement across the face of your quilt. This quilt block is indeed super easy and it's fast, but it sure isn't boring once it's sewn to its neighbors. One way to make a quilt with a wide assortment of scrappy blocks--often made from fabrics you haven't even seen--is to join a block swap. The swap for this block has already ended, but there are lots of other swaps for sewn blocks and swaps for fabric in our Quilting Forum.
