Quilt Block Pattern: Evening Star Block with Nine Patch Center
Monday February 5, 2007
Star quilts are always popular. Here's one that's a twist on the traditional Evening Star block, with a nine-patch center that helps you add more color and movement to the quilt. Like just about every other quilt block, you can change the star's looks pretty dramatically by playing with color and color value when you select your quilting fabrics.More Quilt Block Patterns

Dear Janet
I like that star pattern very much. Since I am fairly new to the game, can you tell me how much fabric this pattern uses in each of the different fabrics in the pattern? I don’t have a stash
Hi, fabric amounts would differ depending on how many blocks you want to make. I’ll work on a generic article about figuring yardages — that might help.
Thanks Janet
I am looking forward to that article.

Janet,
Evening Star Block is a classic but with the Nine Patch Center you have turned it into something simply awesome. I look forward to seeing more patterns from you.
Thanks

P.S details on how to figure out the yardage would certainly help.

I am looking for a pattern that has the nine patch center but the star looks more like a thin tulip.Do you know the name? Thanks
