September is National Sewing Month

Saturday September 9, 2006
I can't believe it's September. The summer has flown by and leaves in our part of the country are already beginning to turn gold and orange. Cooler weather means it's time to bring out the fabrics again if they've been packed away all summer. And it's an excellent time to start your Christmas projects. You'll find quite a few quilting projects at Sewing.org, the Home Sewing Association. About's Sewing Web site is another great place to look for all kinds of sewing projects. If you love to add cross stitching to your projects, you should definitely take a look at Connie Thomas's free cross stitch patterns. Connie's a new Guide who's worked non-stop all summer to write advice and tutorials for her Web site. Many of her patterns make perfect embellishments for your quilts, totes and other projects.
