Make this Grandma's Choice Wallhanging

Wednesday March 22, 2006
Here's a little four-block wallhanging that isn't difficult at all. Beginners might want to practice their rotary cutting skills before beginning, and make sure they are sewing an accurate quarter-inch seam. To use it for a block-of-the-month choice, simply do away with the extra pieced sashing that connects the quilt blocks. Choose lots of fabrics to go scrappy, or play with the colors and color value layouts to give this little quilt a completely different appearance. Illustration © Janet Wickell

Hi Londi, Attic Windows is a traditional block that you can do so many things with. I’ll try to get that pattern online this week. Look in the Block of the Month Link under “Patterns and Projects.” –Janet

Hey! I’m making up my own pattern for a wall hanging. I’ve got the front, back, and batting all cut out and sewn. But I’m turning it (like a pillow). I got that done and stitched in a couple of places so it won’t come apart. Am I done with my creation now?

saw a quilting show where you sewed the front, batting and back together for each block as you go along. when you finished sewing blocks you were all done.
